guys I kind of love fandom right now? and yeah, I know I'm not anything special and anybody who posted a short-to-medium length fic about popular characters with humor and lots of sex would get a big response, but: it has been SUCH A BAD WEEKEND, including Thursday and Friday, and I only got about three and a half hours of sleep last night and that's after oversleeping, and I am having so many ridiculous personal problems on which I will not elaborate because I want to keep this post unlocked? And you're all making me feel goddamned amazing, every last anonymous kudos.

Replies: tonight! When I'm not imminently late for work. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Does anyone know/remember Maria Hill's official title in The Avengers? IMDB says "Agent," but that seems inappropriately unspecial, given that she's the Director's second-in-command. I don't think I ever actually read any comics with her in them, but I have vague comics-based fanfic memories of Assistant Director, although I might be making that up. Do we ever even find out onscreen/in the dialogue?

I have, I swear to God, a real long recs post coming up with like a million stories, because this fandom is amazing, but sometimes you just have to drop everything and order your entire readership to GO LOOK AT A THING. In this case, the thing is so will someone come and carry me home tonight, a Bruce/Tony fic that is now the Bruce/Tony fic, for me. Like--does it contain literally every configuration of events I want to see happen between them? Of course not, that would be impossible even if this fic weren't only 2000 words long. But it's the story that makes me go, Oh. Oh, yes, that. That's it, that's right. Allow me to quote my own overwrought feedback:
I love how--almost gentle, I guess, this story is, it's all kinds of funny and adorable and I snorted laughter multiple times but the most important moments are quiet. Not boring, or muted--just not big melodramatic events. It's like you trust to the power of the emotional connection between them, the basic truth of who they can be for each other, and it absolutely shines through, no crisis necessary. I love it so much.

And it's not even long, so I don't know how all that PURE TRUTH got in there. Ugh, if I don't stop now this will turn into a sad pathetic writerly envy post, and nobody likes those. So go, it's perfect, I'm going to read it five hundred times and probably stop getting weepy after the first eighty or so. Probably. Maybe. Or maybe not.
