Does anyone know/remember Maria Hill's official title in The Avengers? IMDB says "Agent," but that seems inappropriately unspecial, given that she's the Director's second-in-command. I don't think I ever actually read any comics with her in them, but I have vague comics-based fanfic memories of Assistant Director, although I might be making that up. Do we ever even find out onscreen/in the dialogue?

I don't think they ever actually say in the movie, but I'm pretty sure the title you're remembering from the comics is Deputy Director.
