insta-rec

I have, I swear to God, a real long recs post coming up with like a million stories, because this fandom is amazing, but sometimes you just have to drop everything and order your entire readership to GO LOOK AT A THING. In this case, the thing is so will someone come and carry me home tonight, a Bruce/Tony fic that is now the Bruce/Tony fic, for me. Like--does it contain literally every configuration of events I want to see happen between them? Of course not, that would be impossible even if this fic weren't only 2000 words long. But it's the story that makes me go, Oh. Oh, yes, that. That's it, that's right. Allow me to quote my own overwrought feedback:
I love how--almost gentle, I guess, this story is, it's all kinds of funny and adorable and I snorted laughter multiple times but the most important moments are quiet. Not boring, or muted--just not big melodramatic events. It's like you trust to the power of the emotional connection between them, the basic truth of who they can be for each other, and it absolutely shines through, no crisis necessary. I love it so much.

And it's not even long, so I don't know how all that PURE TRUTH got in there. Ugh, if I don't stop now this will turn into a sad pathetic writerly envy post, and nobody likes those. So go, it's perfect, I'm going to read it five hundred times and probably stop getting weepy after the first eighty or so. Probably. Maybe. Or maybe not.
