So despite having more work to do this weekend than is actually humanly possible, I stayed up until 3 AM last night writing four thousand words of unasked-for and never-to-be-posted commentary for "Darling," and bizarrely enough it did make me feel better.

I'm pretty sure I'm not going to get to sleep tonight. I have a few hundred pages to read and two poetry assignments and doubtless something for the horrible composition class that I'm not yet aware of, and early tomorrow morning is the emergency placement exam for a course that I need to graduate, which may or may not be processed in time for May graduation and even if it is, may not be soon enough to let me stay in the second half of said course--the composition course, it's in two parts and the first you can test out of but not the second--it is all just a gigantic mess. A gigantic mess that will require me to take a whole new bus route tomorrow, which is not helping at all.

I meant to go shopping for jeans today because I am down to three pairs, one of which has only one more wear--maaaaaaybe two--before the nascent hole in the crotch becomes noticeable. But it's already 11 and I don't think that's going to happen.

The Halfamoon challenge is back! Sadly I don't have a vid to post for it this year, but I like to think of it as a kind of online, two-week con, where you can premiere works, get ideas, share recs, and host discussions. The last few years have been really awesome, and I hope even more people participate this year. (I'm not connected to it or anything, I just think it's fantastic.)

as I am in a creative writing class again, I will now resume posting my efforts. This being the beginning of the semester, they are still pretty questionable.
