Okay, I realize I just complained about this, but now I'm a third of the way through the second season and I genuinely don't understand how there can be no Happy Endings fic, or rather very little fic and no porn. Is it just that nobody watches it? Because I searched Delicious too and there's just nothing. And I get why there wouldn't be much--it's a sitcom, no genre and no melodrama, and there's weird gender policing stuff and everybody's sexuality is pretty ferociously defined in the way comedies do (a phenomenon on which I have slightly more to say, but I haven't decided if it needs a sentence or a post), and none of the main cast really leap out at you as major pairings. But nothing? I mean, Max. If I could write, I would write literally an entire Kink Bingo card about him, and if he were real and even a tiny bit bisexual I'd do him. Plus Jane is canonically bi and Brad is delightful (edit: and they have a sex toy drawer!), so there's your threesome setup right there, F/F/M or M/F/M as you please. And Penny would be great with Alex, and also did I mention Max? I'm incredibly attracted to Max. He is the final brick in my wall of giving up and admitting I'm bi. Because I would do him.

Like, there is a LOT about this show to criticize, I wouldn't wholeheartedly rec it, but...you can write some serious porn about these people. Serious, hilarious porn. And yet no one has, and I am saddened.

Brad is not white is probably a big reason. Common Law was perfect perfect buddy-cop fandom fodder, except for Travis being black. It has 100 fics in total.

Great, now I've just depressed myself looking up how few stories for Scandal (26) and comparing Gus/Shawn (116) to Lassiter/Shawn (323).

Oh man, I KNOW there's a lot more Shawn/Lassiter than that. I think most of it lives on LJ though. Those numbers are not nearly bad enough.

So yeah, I'm sure that's a big part of it. Plus, the ensemble as a whole isn't wildly shippable--marriages and siblings screw up my puppy-pile plans, although tbh that marriage seems like a nightmare of lies sometimes--and it's a comedy which is hard to write fic for (as I am currently finding out), but I still expected something.
