The temp agency is giving me no jobs, although it has only been a week. While deciding what the fuck to do about this--seriously, can I please have ONE difficult obstacle that I determinedly overcome and have it actually get me somewhere? Just one? Eventually?--I'm doing more Microsoft Office tutorials (almost done with Advanced Word, then Advanced Excel, then...employment? Hopefully? If not I will start on Access and perhaps look into selling organs) and freaking out about money and the fact that I now own one (1) decent-fitting, not-yet-unwearably-damaged pair of jeans.
I need to start on the Dead Like Me vids--the Kings vid is on hold because it makes me too angry and upset to even think about that show anymore, and I've fallen out of love with my 90% finished Magneto vid because it's like a perfect example of all the things I hate about my current vidding style. I may finish it eventually but right now it just depresses me. So I want to start fresh, and the first thing I'm going to have to do is finally learn Avisynth. I am SO AFRAID of Avisynth, you guys, I can't even. I tried using it for post-processing four years ago and it ruined everything and I decided to just stay away from it forever, but I'm getting sick of the shitty way everything looks when you "deinterlace" (ie, blur) in Virtualdub.
Anyway I am 100% terrified of Avisynth, to the point where reading any explanations of it (or any explanations of how interlacing works, oh my god I DON'T WANT TO KNOW, okay) sends my brain into self-defense mode where it just fuzzes over all incoming information, refusing to process it as words. So this should be an adventure.

Handholding me through facing down the great and terrible Avisynth will be very helpful!

What kind of source are you using?

- is it live action or animated? (or free of my rigid binaries)
- do you have the AMVapp installed or do you use some other set of arcane and mystic rituals?
- if you do, what does DGIndex (or any equivalent if you don't) give you as the frame type, frame size, and framerate on your vobs? In case I have a script for identical footage somewhere
