Dear Festividder
Hi, Festividder! I'm reproducing my original requests here, along with various other thoughts that have occurred to me in the last few days. Oh, and as far as music, I like just about everything, especially in vid form.
Request #1: Mystery Science Theater 3000
Anything you make for this will be treasured. Whether it's about the movies or made from host segments, whatever, I will love it. My very most favorite character is Servo, but seriously, anything.
Other stuff: ...I got nothing, I love everything about this show. I guess the only thing I love a little less is Dr. F and Frank? (I know, this is heresy.) But like in an ensemble vid, of course if they showed up I would clap my hands like a seal. Overall the bots are my favorite characters. Also, I originally imagined this fandom for Festivids as vids made from host segments, but then I realized you could make some great vids about the movies themselves and their various ~motifs.~
Request #2: Planet Earth
This could go majestic or comedic (a vid of all the mating rituals cut together?) or tragic, or you could focus on colors, or the photographers and other behind-the-scenes people--I'd love just about anything using this beautiful footage. You could also use footage from the sort-of-sequel series Life, if you want.
Other stuff: Please no close-up shots of insects or mollusks (except octopuses, octopuses are OK), and maybe no long loving sequences about gooey invertebrates in general. That will freak me out a lot. All vertebrates are fine, though! As are not-close-up shots of insects, except anything resembling a centipede in which case please don't include it AT ALL. Thank you. (I realize it's kind of weird to love nature documentaries when I'm so easily distressed by Gross Animals, but I have issues.) And I do recommend Life if you need more footage--as a series, it's not as good as Planet Earth, but there are some AMAZING shots in there, and more behind-the-scenes featurettes.
Request #3: The Sarah Jane Adventures
I'd like something focusing on one or several of the kids, or the whole ensemble (parents and all). Clyde is my favorite, but I love all the kids and would love a vid about any or all of them. Gen/friendship, slash, het, or OT3 is fine.
Other stuff: That's pretty much it, tbh. I adore everything and everyone about this show, and Clyde is the king of my heart for all time. I hope that's not too unhelpful?
Request #4: Syberia 1 & 2
I love Syberia SO MUCH. So so so much. I love the art, and the story, and the mythology, and the history, and the characters, and the way it really is more like a movie you work your way through than a game, and that's a *good* thing because it's AMAZING. You seriously cannot possibly go wrong here. I liked the first game more, and I think it stands alone better than it does as a first part of two, but there are some incredible moments in the second and of course all kinds of beautiful images, so feel free to make a vid about the entire two-game story, or just the first game, or something else, whatever. Anything at all will make me the happiest person alive.
Other stuff: My favorite thing about Syberia is how the story is so tied to geography and history. Actually this is part of why the sequel works less well for me--it's not really about the mammoths, any more than it's really about Hans. It's about the collapse and legacy of the Soviet Union and twentieth century Europe in general, and about Kate and how she changes as she gets more and more deeply entangled in that history, and in the lives and passions of the people she encounters (not just Hans and Oscar but all of them, Boris and Helena and the captain at the Barrockstadt wall and everybody else). I love the way the phone calls get more and more distant and meaningless, to us and to Kate, as seen in her changing reactions to the unfolding melodrama.
Which is not to say you shouldn't include the mammoths, of course; they're one of the central metaphors of the whole series. You can totally include them! And I don't want to discourage you from using the sequel, either. I just want to give you an idea of how I see the game and why I love it so much. The much shorter version of which is basically, "The unbearably gorgeous landscapes and architecture and everything they mean." But I don't do short versions, apparently. Anyway then I would have to add "and Boris and Oscar and Helena," and it would be less short, so.
(To blatantly contradict all this, one of the two sequences in Syberia 2 that make the game impossible to dismiss, for me, is the chapter that's a ghostly version of Hans's childhood. It's just so gorgeous and sad.) (The other one is Oscar [redacted for spoilers, for anyone reading who hasn't played it].)
Request #5: Batman Beyond
I would love a vid about Max, especially, or Terry. I do like Bruce/Terry if you wanted to do that, but gen will be loved just as much. Or a Max vid. A Max vid is like...my holy grail. ONE OF THESE YEARS. (But seriously, anything will be great.)
Other stuff: I got an AMAZING Batman Beyond Bruce vid last year, and if you were matched to me on this fandom and haven't seen it, you really really should. It's so goooood. It is possibly too demanding of me to ask the universe for ANOTHER Batman Beyond vid, and lord knows I've never been able to find the right song for a Max vid, so try not to feel too pressured by the whole holy grail thing. I love Terry just as much. *g*
Request #6: Doctor Who - 1963-1989
Details: If you want to narrow it down, my favorite Doctors are Two, Three, and Five; my favorite companions are Barbara, Ian, Zoe, Jamie, everyone from UNIT, Romana (both), Tegan, Turlough, and Ace. (Okay, that doesn't narrow it down much.) If you want to make a vid about someone who also appears in New Who and/or SJA, like the Brigadier or Jo or the Master, you can use that footage too, if you like. And if you want to do a vid encompassing the whole pre-New Who era, you can use the TVM, or not.
Other stuff: I realize she's included under "everyone from UNIT," but I wanted to make particular mention of my forever love for Liz Shaw. Okay, moving on.
I will enjoy just about any tone here as long as it comes from a place of love, you know? A love which is often filled with mocking, but still love. I mean, I laugh at the old series, but I also take it seriously, and it gives me all the feelings. I would really like a vid about all the feelings, whether it involves the whole series or just one era (whether that's defined by Doctor or producer), or just one character. However, I would also really like ridiculous comedy. Your choice!
As far as pairings, if you want to do that, I like pretty much everything. An incomplete list of particular favorites: Doctor/Master, Doctor/Brigadier (and Three/Brigadier/Liz, although IDK if there's enough to make a vid out of), Barbara/Ian, Two/Jamie(/Zoe), Five/Turlough/Tegan (seriously I love this a LOT), and Doctor/Ace but not sexually. Most days. And Ace/all her girlfriends, and UNIT people/all other UNIT people. ...I really do like everything about classic Who. I even like Adric.

Details: Absolutely anything here would be great. I'm just in love with the animation and the art style, and I think it would make a beautiful vid.
Other stuff: I think that about covers it? I love everyone in this movie, I love looking at this movie, I will love a vid about this movie. If I had any ideas, I would probably already have made one. *g* But you really can't go wrong as long as it involves that art.
Request #8: Sanctuary
Details: My number one most favorite character is Magnus, followed closely by Kate. But really I like everyone.
Other stuff: I actually haven't seen the last half of S3, but I plan to have done so by 2012, so of course you can use it. I have an idle dream of a Helen/Kate vid, because I ship them so hard, but as of mid-S3 it didn't seem possible with what we had. If that's changed, by all means go for it. Otherwise--really, I love all of them. An ensemble vid would be fantastic, or a vid about any particular friendship or relationship or plot arc. After Magnus and Kate, my favorites are Henry and the Big Guy and Tesla and Druitt, but Will got a lot more enjoyable to me in S3 and now I genuinely like his character. I guess the only thing I'm less interested in is any M/F pairing that doesn't involve Helen or Kate. But then, there are hardly any of those.
