1. OMG you guys, the weather is BEAUTIFUL today. I could actually see a couple constellations last night--which hasn't happened ALL SUMMER, not even to the extent that they're ever visible in the middle of a big city--and it is positively CHILLY out right now. Granted I am wearing a t-shirt and shorts, but still. DELICIOUS.

2. Every time I put on my Mike Doughty playlist I remember a thousand vid ideas. Also sometimes I cry all the way to school but that is a separate issue. The first one I had with him was "Madeline and Nine"--the plain acoustic version--for a John/Aeryn vid, John POV. With--I am slightly ashamed to admit--the line "I can give you the constellations / Lay down here and we'll count them all" being played COMPLETELY literally. (I wanted/still want the companion Aeryn POV shipper vid to be Dar Williams' "It's a War in There" and just thinking about that hypothetical vid still makes me--wait for it--cry.)

Also, although I now hate the show with a burning fiery hatred, I really wish someone had made an SPN vid to Doughty's American Car(link to lyrics; beware ads). It is seriously CUSTOM-MADE. Not just the car thing, either.

And there are SO MANY songs of his that I love so intensely I just feel a NEED to vid them, but seeing as how I am pretty detached from television these days and seem likely to remain thus, it will not happen. But seriously guys "Your Misfortune" is BEGGING for a vid, like, structurally, the way the lyrics progress and repeat, just. BEGGING.

3. However I still wish I could write Mike Doughty a letter explaining politely but vigorously that ENORMITY and TININESS are not OPPOSITES, nor is enormity a word one generally uses to characterize God, at least not unless one actually intends irony.

Check back tonight for mp3s! Both because OMG, MUSIC, SO AMAZING and on the extremely, ridiculously slim chance someone will ever make one of these.
