and a slight crankiness

Did I just not notice, or was it not made at ALL clear that Auction vids would not be on the VVC DVD set? I would definitely not have let myself sleep through it if I'd known that.

I hate how I always overextend myself when I travel alone. This is the second time I've ended up in a gorgeous city but stuck in a crappy hostel bed all evening long. And I mean, if I'm going to make myself bedridden, I wish I could do it at a point when I'm still in a reasonably nice hotel where the pillows don't crunch under my head.

I was also REALLY sad at missing Auction for that reason. I didn't find out until afterwards that they wouldn't be on the DVD, though I guess it's sort of a nod to the vids being gifts and therefore the recipient gets to decide what happens to them next. But I was really really looking forward to the Tightrope vid, for one, because I am mega fannish about both Adam Lambert and Janelle Monae, so.

That sucks about the hostel beds. I hope you feel better soon and have a good trip home, okay?

They've never been on the con DVD, but usually will be posted online for everyone to enjoy. It can take a week for all the vids to go online - a lot of people are still traveling or are recovering. I've often thought that the convention could consider putting the collected vids out on a DVD every few years (to raise money for charity/other purposes and of course with everyone's permission). But the general idea may be that if you pay $ for the vid, you get the DVD quality copy, everyone else can enjoy it online and you face no pressure to offer the DVD copy up to the rest of the non-paying world. It may help push the $ into the hundreds knowing that you're getting a limited edition. And the convention needs a lot of money to rent the equipment.

Of course this is my speculation.

{{hugs}} Yeah, I get the frustration, because I've always had to leave before the Auction show, and they're never on the DVD. Sucks, I know, although I get the reasoning.
