quick and dirty recs
NOW WITH LINKS. Mostly. Recs are for stuff that I particularly liked and have the brain at the moment to comment on, from Club Vivid and the Premieres show--I haven't seen Also Premiering or Challenge or Auction vids yet. Also there is a strong (but not entire) bias towards light-hearted stuff, because I am EXHAUSTED and cannot bear to rewatch or think about anything serious right now.

Pure joy.
Party in the Midlands, Milly, Legend of the Seeker
There are so many great vids for this show, but none has ever made me want so badly to watch it.
Bad Romance, sisabet, multi (Superman/Lex Luthor)
SO MUCH FUN. Uses all kinds of Superman-related media including excellent use of comics panels.
Tik Tok, kuwdora, Sanctuary
I've only been anticipating this vid for MONTHS. Greatest song call ever.
Boys Folder, akemi42, Watchmen
I literally shrieked with laughter when I realized what akemi42 was doing here. Funniest vid of the whole con, IMO.
A Vindication of the Rights of Woman, damned_colonial, multi
Period movies, bad-ass women. Two great tastes!
Dancin' With Myself, Jetpackmonkey, multi (Gene Kelly movies)
GENE KELLY MOVIES. Seriously, this is distilled JOY.

I have no idea what this is about (except hockey!) but it made me smile enormously.
Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me - bop_radar - Smallville
You guys, this vid makes me WANT TO WATCH SMALLVILLE AGAIN. It is about Ollie (version Smallville, obviously) and it is gorgeously slick and comic-booky--like comic book movies at their very best.
The Way You Found Me, sweetestdrain and greensilver, Hercules:tLJ
Wait, maybe this is the funniest vid of the con. Definitely at least a tie.
Stay Awake, Laura Shapiro, multi
Eerie, beautiful, and intensely disturbing. I will definitely remember this one for a long time.
Pursuit of Happiness, Cappy, The Wire
A heartbreaking and beautiful vid that makes me want to go back to the show(despite knowing full well I do not have the emotional capacity to cope with it in any way).
CITIHALL, bradcpu, Futurama
OH MY GOD, you GUYS, Futurama + Tenacious D, why has no one done this before? IT WORKS PERFECTLY.
Things Have Changed, greensilver, Angel
Gorgeous, rich Wesley character study.
Wading Deep Water, Barkley, Southland
This seems to be one of the smash hits of the show, and quite right. A simple, stunning musical choice that is still repeating in my head (in the good way) and simple, stunning clip choices. (For those of you who, unlike me, know the show, it's about Lydia.)
Bloodbuzz Ohio, f1renze, Breaking Bad
Another vid where I know literally nothing about the source, and I can't actually follow what's going on in the vid, but damn, it's gorgeous. The editing just leaves me breathless.
