(no subject)

Teen Wolf this week felt just like watching an episode of Supernatural! Not from the first season, there wasn't enough full-on hatred of women and POC in the first season. Definitely circa season 2, maybe even 3. If you are fortunate enough not to have watched Supernatural, this translates as "I'm watching next week to finish the season and then I am so fucking DONE with this show." I mean, it's had horrible problems all along, but this episode was just an explosion of awful.

I sort of...can't deal with putting it all into words right now. It was literally the whole episode and the culmination of all kinds of bad shit this season and just--EVERYTHING WAS WRONG. Even the good parts were wrong, like I cannot enjoy the sweet and heart-wrenching character development for this white guy when the other two characters who were introduced alongside him (black guy, white girl) are being called cowards, portrayed as stupid and weak, and lovingly brutalized onscreen. FOR INSTANCE.

This post happened to come RIGHT AFTER a community post on my rlist in which someone was praising Teen Wolf by comparing it to Supernatural. I was like, DUBIOUS FACE, and your post makes me feel justified in my dubiousness. A++.
