I am slightly worried that I can't seem to write in past tense anymore. A couple of my better Avengers WIPs are past tense, but I probably won't finish them, and the two I did finish were present, and I made a concerted effort to write this stupid Teen Wolf fic in past tense just to see if I still could? And apparently I can't. This is not exactly a big deal, it just feels...weird. I should be in control of these things!

Said stupid Teen Wolf fic is basically my pairing manifesto for the ship that I love that nobody else ships. Hopefully the "I do what I want" factor will provide additional motivation to actually finish it. The heck with you and your monoshipping, Teen Wolf fandom! I DO WHAT I WANT. As long as it's in present tense.

Also, cheap cherry bourbon is the nastiest thing ever. I'm so glad I only got a tiny sample bottle of it, it's basically cough syrup.

...which is your favorite Teen Wolf pairing? I am mainlining the show right now!

I also ship unrequited!Stiles/Scott!!! Much MUCH more than I ship Stiles/Derek so far. I ship Derek/Scott and Derek/Jackson in the few moments I bother to care about Derek at all, to be honest. I tend to be much more of a bff!shipper than a snarky enemies shipper, and I don't feel like, so far anyhow, canon is giving a lot in the way of Stiles/Derek.

I am just starting season 2, so no spoilers, I should be caught up by the end of the week.

I could totally read the shit out of some Lydia/Allison.

I see what you mean about the women. I have a giant crush on Scott's mom but so far her role has been to be mostly absent, which... isn't a great vibe for the series, and the one time she had plot relevance it was her being duped. And ugh. KATE. I am the saddest about Kate. Let's don't even TALK about Allison's mom.

I have to admit, I am pleasantly surprised by both Allison and Lydia. I feel like Lydia uses her sexuality as a weapon but... I think the show treats that as a forgivable flaw? ANd contrasted with Allison, who is very in control of her sexuality (OMG that scene where she holds up the condom to get Scott off the hook--YESSSSSS!--as well as the scene in the stairwell when she and Lydia have the frank talk about sex was also A+). I am glad Lydia is getting a stronger role this season so far, though I am prepared for my hopes to be dashes. She and Allison are both just too smart to be fooled for long by Scott and Stiles. And LBR, since Scott and Stiles discuss werewolfiness OPENLY in the CROWDED HALLWAYS/LOCKERROOMS/CLASSES it is only a matter of time before everyone in the world knows what the hell they are.

There is a lot wrong with the show but I need something very pretty and silly to watch b/c work is so stressful right now, and this is totally fitting the bill. <3 I THINK YOU SHOULD WRITE FIC. I WOULD READ YOUR FIC!

I have exactly the same problem. I find it's worse if I don't know exactly what's going to happen before I sit down to write. If it's unfolding in my head as I write, of course it comes out present, because I'm describing what I'm seeing at that point. If I'm describing something that's already happened in my head, it's much easier to stick to past imperfect.

The story knows what it wants, and it wants present tense.
