The thing about getting more involved in fandom again is that then I miss it when I go away. Not during the day when I am very busy accidentally walking across Central Park and photographing swans and such things, but now. I bought a new to me Mary Roach book on Friday but now I've finished it. Can you use gchat on an iphone? That is what I wish to do. Also to go home and spend eight hours catching up on tumblr, and Korra, and fic.
I announced my new career intentions to pretty much my entire family, including my cousin who I see every ten years or so and one of my quarter sisters. So now there is no backing down. I also tried to order a cosmopolitan at the party, which had an open bar, but what I got was a glass of pink vodka. And apparently taking a big swig of such a beverage expecting ~50% fruit juice will get you remarkably drunk. Although I did learn that drinking almost straight vodka no longer makes me throw up.
