from ani to girlyman: not helping
I should start keeping track of all the TERRIBLE song calls my brain keeps making. Except they're actually so embarrassing I don't think I could stand to post it. I just--I have very firm notions of what kind of musical aesthetic is appropriate for which characters, and breaking those notions gives me a cringe reaction very much like an embarrassment squick, no matter how perfect the lyrics are. (And the lyrics...are not always perfect. To say the least.) This does not stop me from swaying and mouthing with my eyes closed, possibly tearing up, of course.
Okay, I will say this much: the current song I have on repeat for this purpose is Girlyman's The Shape I Found You In. I leave it up to your imagination which character(s) I'm applying it to with great intensity and unironic passion. I cannot imagine it's not obvious.

FWIW, now I'm listening to The Shape I Found You In and swaying along with you to what I suspect is the same vid you have in your head. <3

I realized this morning that The Shape I Found You In is equally (and possibly terribly) applicable to TWO Avengers pairings that have seized my heart. I possibly have certain preferences re: the kind of pairings I fall for? POSSIBLY.

I was totally thinking Tony/Bruce for Shape I Found You In, though on reflection I could see Pepper/Tony, or Pepper/Tony/Bruce, or Tony/Steve, or Natasha/Clint OH MAN, or Steve/Bucky . . . hm.
