I just tried to make a post about how I think I will start being on gchat and here are some of my social anxiety issues you should know about as I attempt to do this again. But then I got too anxious writing it and had to delete the whole thing. So that's promising.

Short version: You should feel free to message me (lcsbanana, still haven't gotten around to changing emails) whenever my status is green, but I may run away and/or act weird in other ways. Also I probably won't message other people first because THAT IS SCARY, even if I've known you for ten years. ALSO I'm not sure if Gmail is actually making a sound when I get a message the way it's supposed to, so I may not even notice? We'll see.

--also I don't know if I have to invite people or if they can just message me? And if "invite" means what it meant back on AIM, ie, they get an actual message in real time with an invitation? Or if it just means...add them to your list of chat contacts. IT IS VERY UNCLEAR.

I am going to add you and maybe chat, but I also have weird IM behavior and so I just wanted to let you know that if I suddenly vanish it is because I suddenly freak out/wander off/get distracted by Glitch, not because of anything you say. FYI.

So I'm dumb and I have no idea if your AIM name is the same as your Gchat name? Or do you just have AIM since Gchat and AIM are supposed to talk to each other now? (Some day I will have to make the transition to these new and scary technologies when AIM finally kicks the bucket and it will be hard.)

i am not currently on AIM--I mean, I am, as stars.some--I think? but I'm not signed on with a client because everyone seems to use gchat. where i am, as lcsbanana, since that's my gmail address.

i want to figure out how to route gchat through pidgin, so that there'll be a little icon on my taskbar that flashes when a new message comes. but for the moment that is beyond me.

Invite is totally "add to contact list".
