I saw The Avengers again! The screen was disgustingly dark--the whole point I went again in the theater was to get a better view of people's faces during the emotional moments, and it was like it had been filmed behind a screen door. During the scene with Thor in the field of flowers, the sky behind him looked like a storm was coming. Do people just not notice this? That you can't see the characters' faces? I NOTICE. Anyway I am confirmed in my choice to pretty much never see movies at a theater anymore; it might barely be worth the money if they didn't ruin it with wrong bad projection.

HOWEVER, it was still pretty awesome. I still want all the things I want, except more. Also, if I know I'm in that new fandom phase where I try to turn every song I hear into a theme song for a character or a pairing, I should probably switch to something besides the Ani DiFranco playlist. My brain keeps trying to make song calls that make me want to slap myself. (Although the two for Tony/Pepper actually work great, if you are like me and kind of hate that pairing. And the one for Natasha might work, can't tell yet. And it's not like I haven't found all kinds of perfect songs for male characters sung by women, and vice versa, but apparently Ani does not work that way. Like...at all.)

I sat all the way through to the very very end again, to check a fact, and now I can start writing without any more excuses. I KNOW ALL. And I will turn it into porn. Or feelings, anyway.

Yeah, this was the first time the Tony/Pepper relationship didn't give me goosebumps of horror, and I still didn't like it.

Since I read about the 2D/3D projector issue with dark screens, I checked with my cinema - they have different 2D and 3D cinemas with their own projectors, meaning that's why movies there in 2D have never had this darkness problem that I keep reading about.
