Apparently I have picked up a new coping mechanism, where in addition to depression eating and depression watching TV for hours on end, I also depression exercise? I was doing my daily DDR and I did the amount I usually do, and then I thought, well, if I stop now I'm just going to have to deal with life again, let's do another set. So I did, and almost did another because fuck dealing with life, but my joints were feeling worried. This will either end in surprise fitness or a stress fracture, it is too early to tell. Most likely not the former, what with the stress eating. Oatmeal creme pies + white bread + a wedge of brie, possibly this is why I'm always so tired.

In happier food news, the supermarket has started stocking Passover food even though it's not for ages still. This is EXCELLENT because during the rest of the year, the only kind of gefilte fish I can find is the gross weird sweetened variety. (I like it 1.) in jelly not liquid, 2.) not with accompanying sad vegetables, 3.) NOT SWEETENED.) I will be feasting on fishball chunks and horseradish for the next eight weeks nonstop. ...ACTUALLY I'm gonna go have some right now, brb

Possibly bc I am totally disrespectful of food traditions, this is what I do w gefilte ( the not sweetened kind):

Smash flat
Dip that sucker in egg
Flop it around in matzoh meal
Pan-fry
Call it a fish cake and slap some hot sauce all up ons
Eat!

the ones in jelly hold together better for this, and yeah, I had to experiment a bit with spatulas and brushing egg on and so on before I got something that works.

it doesn't stay together SUPER well, but it doesn't matter too much, it just has to stay together enough to scarf it all down!

This is one reason why I love stretchy-yoga type stuff. You can do an unlimited amount of it and postpone dealing with life almost indefinitely!

(See under: how I got very very flexible while in the loony bin.)
