what the

okay so, one thing I sometimes do when feeling rotten, as I have been for the past ever, is reread old LJ entries from when I was really into a new fandom, which I realize is deeply pathetic but I don't care. So a few days ago I was reading through my first few months of discovering Doctor Who, and I remembered how amazing and beautiful to me the DVD commentaries on various Five episodes were to me, primarily because of Janet Fielding who I still want to marry btw, but also the one I'd listened to for The Five Doctors was really fantastic. And I still had it, but as an .mp3 that required all kinds of annoying fiddling to make it play simultaneously with the video, so I went to find somewhere to download a DVD rip with the commentaries included.

And I did, and started it up and it had two extra audio tracks, not just one, so out of curiosity I clicked on the third...and discovered a SECRET COMMENTARY by two new Who writers/producers and David Tennant. I had no idea this commentary existed, it is like a special magical gift out of nowhere. Slightly less magical because it turns out the other commentary also isn't the one I remember, and I'll have to manually synchronize the .mp3 commentary after all to hear Peter Davison being hilariously mean about everything, but whatever. SURPRISE FANBOY COMMENTARY. This fandom is so wonderful.

--scratch that, I found the version with the commentary I know built in! EVERYTHING IS PERFECT. I forgot that Terrance Dicks is the other guy in this commentary, and is also adorably mean. "That [line] is so naff! That's Eric Saward, probably."
