This sounds ridiculous, but did White Collar greenscreen the Peter-and-El-at-outdoor-cafes scenes in season 2? Or at least does it look that way to anyone else? Because I've watched through 2x04 so far and there is something really wrong with the light in those scenes--it's atrium light, not outdoor light, but everything around them is outdoor light and there's always a breeze--and it creeps me out more and more each time. It also really doesn't seem like it would be worth the trouble, but if it's not a green screen then I feel like I'm teetering on the edge of some unknowable Lovecraftian precipice. The show itself continues unremarkable, at least, allowing me to gorge on fic with minimum emotional commitment, which is more or less what I was hoping for. I just keep getting hung up on the light is wrong D: everything is melting D: D: D:

They totally greenscreened them! And I'm pretty sure they also have El in the wrong aspect ratio - they're trying to make her look less pregnant, but it just makes her look like she's a little bit in the wrong aspect ratio, iirc.

Yeah, I don't know how they could think that everyone wouldn't notice! I know that a lot of people don't see aspect ratio problems, but omg they are like fingernails on a chalkboard for me, I basically couldn't get any of the content from those scenes last season because I was busy freaking out at the greenscreen and the image manipulation and the lighting.

I know there were several greenscreen scenes last year that were used to hide the actress's pregnancy.

ETA: And there totally weren't any other comments here when I started typing this comment, even though there should have been based on the timestamp. *pokes at Dreamwidth* The site's doing weird things tonight.

They may have been filming in LA and/or filming not in order because of actress availability. But yes, awful green-screening.

She wasn't in NY during this time. She was in LA so greenscreens were probably cheaper than trying to find an outdoor location that looked like NY.
