and this will be my "weather" icon

Hurricane season has finally made it to the Gulf coast! You'd think after living here my entire life, I'd remember to get to the store for water and cat food sometime earlier than the morning after NOAA issues an official warning. Hopefully there will be anything left at all. --this is not actually serious, I should note; TD Thirteen is totally weak (by my standards, living an hour inland; it would moderately suck to be on the coast of Louisiana right now) and heading east of me anyway--if you look at this map, Houston is literally at the farthest-west point of that tracking cone, or actually just slightly west of it. If I weren't attempting to be a Responsible Adult, I probably wouldn't even bother with supplies.

It's pushing some nice weather ahead of it, anyway. I stepped outside this afternoon about 2 PM, felt the air and the sun and saw the sky being actually blue with distinct, separate clouds, and immediately thought oh thank GOD, summer is FINALLY OVER, this is so NICE! Then I checked my phone for the temperature, which turned out to be: 93 degrees. As this is about ten degrees lower than mid-afternoon has been for the last month, I stand by my assessment. HOORAY FOR FALL.
