Tomorrow I have therapy and two job interviews and god knows what else will arise, so today was spent in bed, avoiding food, reading fic, and forcing myself to watch X3 again for vidding purposes. It was pretty much as godawful as I remembered it being five years ago, but there are some extremely useful shots in there. You just have to pretend that they're fragments of a whole other X3 made in some alternate universe, which somehow made their way here to be salvaged for vids and serve as inspiration for vastly-superior fic. I mean, the vids are already going to be kind of--pastiches of images disconnected from specific narrative, since there's absolutely no way to make the first movies and First Class exist in the same universe. So hopefully people will be willing to watch them as such.

Anyway it was probably appropriate to watch such a rotten movie on the most horrible day I've had in a while; usually I don't feel this bad until at least an hour after it gets dark, but I went to bed this way last night and woke up still feeling this way and it has not yet ceased. I have to be in Positive Perky Interview mode by noon tomorrow, we'll see if I can make it. Also I have literally nothing appropriate to wear so that should be an adventure.

I think about 70% of fans use the fragments of X3 that they like, 20% use the full thing (if only to retcon it) and 10% are in total denial that it ever existed.

It's so FRUSTRATING, because the whole cure plot could have been SO GOOD. And then it all just went off the rails and exploded horribly, plus the whole two-movies-smushed-together thing works even less well when one of the movies is awful from the get-go.
