A MOMENTOUS OCCASION: I have finally located a women's plus-size long-sleeve 100% cotton dress shirt that more or less fits. It's fully opaque! It doesn't have those awful bust-and-stomach darts! I can wear it with all the buttons closed! It's not the perfect replica of a classic men's dress shirt that I've been longing for--this probably doesn't exist unless I were to actually obtain a men's dress shirt and have a copy made of it that allows for breasts, smaller arms, and somewhat less shoulders--but it will serve my purposes quite well. And it's making me consider a complete style change. I've always been wildly attracted to chunky/stocky butch women in men's dress shirts or approximations thereof, I just never imagined that I could actually pull it off myself, but apparently I really can. Not so much the butch part, but I could work on that!

So now I just need to find myself some ties and appropriate shoes, and maybe some more straightforward pants, and I can attempt to become the woman of my own dreams. Lands' End, you are still on a nonstop downward slide into shittiness and leaning desperately on your vanished glory days of actual quality manufacturing and materials, but today I love you anyway. Especially since you also gave me a plus-size polo shirt that looks like a polo shirt: no looong string of tiny buttons, no ruching at the bust, no elasticized cap sleeves, it doesn't come down to my knees and I will never ever take it off ever. Except to wear my lovely pale blue dress shirt.

Where did you find this glorious object?

Ah. It looks like I would have the same problems I usually do with Lands' End, where anything that fits my shoulders and bust hangs like a tent below that.

(I'm 45 inches around the bust and around the shoulders, 37 around the underbust, with large-ish arms-- on a scale to match, at least-- and no hips OR waist to speak of. I've kind of given up on buying tailored anything :-/.)

I always get my ties at Goodwill. You can usually find nice silk ones in a bunch of patterns from decent to hilariously hideous for $3/each, which is much better than the $30 each ties sell for new. (!!!)
