1. thank you for all the tattoo reassurance and information! seriously, it made me feel SO MUCH BETTER. you are all lovely.
2. I'm attempting to force myself to feel happy that I'm writing again, rather than frustrated at how I apparently can't keep writing on one thing. 1500 words of setup completed for the dudeslash story of multiple sex scenes and emotional porn and impending tragedy? Heck with that, I could be writing gen that nobody wants to read! Well, I'm pretty sure a handful of you guys would want it, at least. But I'm also much less sure if it's even in character. Or rather, I'm almost sure it is, but I think it might take quite a ways into the story for me to make it clear why and how I'm sure of this. (Said gen is Erik and Raven and Hank, Erik POV--so far, probably the whole thing, IDK yet--about the steps that occur between "personal vengeance" and "Brotherhood of Mutants," some of which were shown onscreen and some of which weren't, or were shown but never focused on. And also about the other two. It actually started with my strong desire to kick Hank's brain until it made sense, then collided with my desire to kick Erik's emotional arc until it made sense, and of course it's impossible to do either of those stories without doing Raven's story just as much.
(Technically, the Raven/Hank and Erik/Raven of canon make it het rather than gen, but it's not actually about those relationships--at least not the part that makes them / rather than &--so in my head with my weird double standards, gen it remains.)
Of course all this blather and I might never get past the first scene. I might start a third story! Anything could happen! I could edit this post to include said first scene, totally unedited, in a blatant play for attention! But I'll try not to do that. But I promise nothing.
