I am home! I foolishly upgraded Firefox immediately before I left, and it took me an hour just now to make it look non-awful and something approximating functional--entirely via add-ons, of course, there was no option in FF4 itself to undo any of the huge UI changes. Then I went to send angry feedback to Mozilla and discovered that the form for leaving product feedback--the ONLY way to do so, apparently, there's no email link--limits you to 140 characters. I chopped up my message into about eight pieces and added an extra piece first explaining how fucking stupid and awful their feedback form is.

The cat is deliriously, anxiously overjoyed to see me. He hasn't been getting stroked much and not combed at all, and he is noticeably furrier than when I left.

I found it pretty easy to undo the particularly annoying changes - tabs suddenly above everything else and navigation buttons on the wrong side. What else did you have to tweak?

I had to make the top not transparent, and bring back the status bar, and get the add-on icons back on the status bar (which I couldn't do just by clicking the box in the Firefox options screen to do that, because then only two of them appeared and also a third that was invisible and it was just a big mess, so I had to undo that and add them manually). There's more stuff I'd like to change, but those were the main things.
