Sitting on that big rock in Central Park, and a little girl runs up alongside me--when she goes up to the edge as her dad calls for her it's only a four ft drop but sheer and onto more rock and she doesn't seem to notice the edge. I restrain my urge to reach for her but am glad she's within reach.

"You probably don't want to go down that way, sweetie."

"It's okay," she says, "I'm Captain America!" and clambers down easily.
