Things that are complicated: when your project partner e-mails you complaining about how your professor said to call her Dr., not Mrs., and wow what a crazy bitch. Especially when this comes right after relating something said professor did that actually was seriously annoying and unhelpful and kind of inappropriate. Especially when the bulk of our work together on this project is upcoming. I think I managed it pretty well, but...ugh.

Displaced anger? Because yes, how dare she want to use a professional title she spent years working to attain, like her
male peers instead of basking in her husband's reflected glory.

I think a woman professor asking students to use her proper title/stop calling her Mrs. gets the "yikes, what a bitch" reaction a lot of the time, regardless of what else she does. The fact that she was actually being kind of mean about something else just makes it so much more awkward for me to try and subtly call out the inappropriateness of said reaction. I mean. I tried! But it felt AWKWARD.
