I'm doing a group presentation on a work of (sort of) psychoanalytic criticism of a bunch of novels and memoirs and other texts, and my group partners don't believe in subtext. Like...at all. WHY DO THESE THINGS HAPPEN TO ME.

Nicholas Courtney has died. crap, you guys. I mean, not to sound callous and horrible, but I don't usually...care, exactly, about celebrity deaths since, you know, I don't know them. But idk, it's been a really crappy day and this is really upsetting me for some reason. (Okay, it's because I have a really ridiculously emotional attachment to the Brigadier, and he's not supposed to DIE, but that's stupid and also I do, in fact, know the difference between fiction and reality. So.)
