well this is just the gayest damn morning I've had in a while. first I stayed up all night, primarily reading fanfic(gay), then I listened to Rent--straight through this time, not skipping aruond--on the drive to school(GAY), and now I'm watching Jarman's Edward II for my forthcoming english class(unsurprisingly: GAAAAAAAAAAAY). pretty much the only way to top this will be if I can sneak in some actual lesbian sex before noon.
(I'm only 15 minutes into the movie but enjoying it a lot, because it's good but most of all because since I read the play last week, I've been DYING to see an actual live portrayal of Gaveston--even one not primarily intended to be faithful to the original, I don't care, he's such a startlingly interesting character in the text and the star of the entire play, for me.)
edit: fuck, this movie is AMAZING. i mean, again: unsurprising. but so, so, so mind-blowing. i am not really looking forward to discussing it in a class full of people who are 1.) mostly straight and 2.) mostly even younger than me. but hopefully the professor will be able to keep the discussion focused on how it interacts with the play(and we're not even supposed to spend a huge amount of time on the film, i think, so i'm probably just being paranoid).
