why must everything be ad absurdum?

...I think the breastfeeding/infant discussion is completely ridiculous, though. YOU CAN'T BRING YOUR BABIES EVERYWHERE. Just wait a year or two, for fuck's sake. I mean, choosing to breastfeed only and without pumping is an awesome choice, but it's a CHOICE that you make that has CONSEQUENCES. You can't bring your baby to a fucking bar, either.

clarification: I am 1000% in favor of breastfeeding in public and I think it should be allowed in every place babies are allowed. I just don't think everywhere in the entire world needs to allow babies.

Also, in case I gave the wrong impression by making some posts locked and others unlocked: I am completely in favor of content warnings and institutionalized accessibility(versus "just ask if you need help! we don't need a policy!" which I think is hugely problematic), in all ways. I just don't think having a baby is always an accessibility issue.

So I changed my flight to leave Chicago on Wednesday instead of Sunday, and booked a hostel for Monday and Tuesday nights(they didn't have Sunday available). Now I just need to find a place to stay Sunday night--preferably with somebody, but if anyone has suggestions for hotels that will cost me less than a hundred for a night--is this even a reasonable expectation anywhere in the city? I know in New York it would be a LAUGHABLE proposition, but Chicago is a mystery to me. And, you know, if any of you feel kindly towards me and want to lend me a couch, that would be wonderful. *g*
