I totally just blew my mom's mind by playing her this, except the actual clip from the episode so she saw it was a guy singing. Which hadn't been what I meant to show off--it was more that she arrived while I was rewatching and that clip is one of my favorite numbers with the adorable sweet flashbacks and amazing acting--so to do it properly, I played this for her. I think she just hadn't realized until now that countertenors existed.

It's so awesome. I also love women with extremely deep voices--in both cases they lend a totally different quality to what are technically the same notes.
