so I've spent the last week-ish doing a new Dragon Age playthrough, basically nonstop (I don't think I've eaten a single thing that wasn't pizza or a smoothie) and I have some advice for you, if you play it, which you should because it's amazing: do not stupidly decide not to invest any points in Coercion because it would be out of character for your failbot asshole PC. It turns out this shuts off huge portions of the game! Like, ones you didn't choose on the last two runs and want to see! I was THIS CLOSE to having a M/M/F/F foursome in a whorehouse, you guys. I set it up SO CAREFULLY.

on the upside, I've done two new and awesome romances and I've played through almost all the way to the Landsmeet on normal difficulty for the first time, with barely any cheating. (It's an accomplishment for me, okay, I'm not actually a real gamer.) Also, one of the sidequests made me cry. It wasn't even the first time I'd seen it, I've just been sleeping badly this week (drug withdrawal sucks) and that elf in the deep roads just GETS me. Also, Sten attempting subterfuge to break the PC out of prison is utterly priceless. "We are here to deliver...something...This is pointless."

I also found out that you can have all kinds of sex with Zevran while Morrigan is at +100 Love status for you, after sleeping with her, and she won't care AT ALL. Which is kind of amazing. Zevran will eventually make you choose, but Morrigan is apparently devoid of jealousy(except for other women, from what I have read of what happens if you two-time her with Leliana).

UGH, YOU GUYS, WHY IS THIS GAME SO AWESOME. If only you could romance Sten, it would be actual genuine perfection. Well, and if the awkward sex scenes weren't set to Enya. And if it came with the skip-the-Fade-sequence mod pre-installed. Does ANYONE not hate the Fade sequence? The mod I got to skip it had, like, eight hundred adoring comments.

...elf in the Deep Roads? You mean there's a~~n opportunity to get stuff~~ sidequest that I've missed?

THE SKIP THE FADE MOD IS SO LOVELY TO ME.

Oh man, there's this amazing sidequest called Topsider's Honor where you find the pieces of some elf's sword who joined the Legion of the Dead ages ago. And get an extremely touching codex entry.

Oh! I always get like, the hilt for that, and then I'm all, GET ME OUT OF HERE and I've never looked for the other parts. I'll have to try that this time.

*facepalms* I'm on my third playthrough with my female City Elf. I love her so much.

I have now played all the origins, and finished the game with three of them, and City Elf is definitely the best. My fem!city elf was the most fleshed out character in my mind and had the most growth and actual roleplaying. (Whereas I suspect they made the Mage origin painful and boring and annoying just to discourage you from playing an overpowered three-mage party. SO ANNOYING.)

Mage origin is really kind of awful. For some reason, I've played that one more than any other, but I haven't finished the game with a mage. I finally decided I was going to scream if I did the Harrowing one more time, so my current mage is a Cousland, courtesy of the Adopted mod.
