my computer is broken AGAIN. i swear to god i have never had this many problems with a machine, INCLUDING the laptop i spilled soda on the first month i got it. now that festivids is nearing, this is a BIG SERIOUS ISSUE and not just a gigantic annoyance. i'm hoping i just need a new USB card, since that's where all the problems seem to be centered around, but if that doesn't work then fuck it, i'm buying a new desktop. i cannot go on bringing this thing into the shop four times a year.
ON A RELATED NOTE, what would you say the specs for a decent vidding computer are? (PC only, I've already bought Premiere.) I keep getting thrown off because I know the top of the line is for gamers, and it's been years since I had any feeling for what was average. Probably anything will be an improvement on my current system. In a dream world I'd like to keep it under a thousand dollars, because I desperately need new speakers and I already have a monitor. But running the numbers from various retailers seems to indicate more like $1300 or more :(
