the jewcon makes its triumphant return
so uh. this winter is going to be MUCH BUSIER than i thought. what with the visiting new york, and then a couple days later going to israel. FREE JEW VACATION \o/
and now i have to get my passport! which has been missing for over five years, which is sad, because before that i would never have gone five years without leaving the country. losing streak about to be ended! so yeah, it's looking like i'm going to be in NYC from xmas through 1/5. unless i get my second choice flight, which leaves from philadelphia, which involves more flying/unpacking but also more visiting of people in that region! hopefully.
i have of course selected the nerdiest possible trip organizer--you can get ones that are all 'spa packages and clubbing in tel aviv' with the bare minimum of religious/cultural content, and you can get ones that are all adventure sports, and you can get ones (like i did) that are full of ARCHAEOLOGY and RELIGION and CLIMBING ON OLD THINGS. traveling by group tour is usually the antithesis of a good time for me, but the whole safety issue makes it more tolerable, plus you know. IT'S FREE. so i think that will help. :D
