you know, i don't think i've posted a single thing to my lj about racism or misogyny--there was that brief spate of activity over the warnings fight, but that's it--in well over a year. because it makes me tired, and i don't have enough energy to be getting tired when i don't have to. miraculously, i have neither been run out of fandom on a rail, nor made to feel like an idiot, nor treated any differently. maybe because it never occurred to me that any of those things might happen due to the ABSENCE of my doing anything?
seriously i don't understand it. fandom is not lacking for squee! if you don't want to talk about something, don't talk about it! your friends will still be your friends and tv will still be exciting! the whole "not smart enough" thing--hell, i don't remember the last time i read meta, either about fandom generally or fandom-specific, and i don't feel stupid. i feel quite smart what with the going back to school and all. I DON'T UNDERSTAND PEOPLE, basically.
