yyyyeaah, you can pretty much tell if my head is a total mess because i watch HOURS UPON HOURS OF TV. so i finally got round to finishing the Sarah Jane Adventures--I'd fallen away after episode 5--and oh, this show is just so MAGNIFICENT. currently wandering through the back issues of the newsletter, preparing for a small binge on fic and meta. :D :D :D :D :D

the only single negative note is that, well, i'm a bit concerned about Clyde. i've been on the lookout for him falling prey to the New Who team's...ISSUES with black co-stars, and the finale didn't exactly reassure me. i mean, i absolutely LOVED that his friendship with Luke became really important, and how it was different from Maria's friendship with both of them--how that relationship was special--but his big moment of getting into the computer turned out to be totally futile, as Mr. Smith was already revealing himself with menacing laughter. and then, unconsciousness. i make this face: :/

but, you know, i do not lose hope! AND OH THE FIC I COULD WRITE. and maria, and sarah jane, and alan :D :D :D and luke putting in some really good acting that last ep when he was locked in the bedroom, and--oh, THIS SHOW. IT IS SO GOOD. IT IS SO VERY VERY VERY GOOD.

and [livejournal.com profile] petronelle, now i can read your story finally! \o/ and then i think i have to do some more meta, on how the child-snatching plot is so reflective of the show's general self-awareness, the anachronicity of a show about a loner adult and a bunch of kids who adore her, and what it says about the parent franchise, and how strongly this show is focused on untraditional families, and just--THERE IS SO MUCH THERE. it's a brilliant kids' show and it's smart and funny and fast and ridiculously deeper than it needs to be. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
