Three multifandom vids I'll never make

...because I can't make multifandom vids, despite constantly getting ideas for them. Like these:

1. OK Go, "Get Over It" (lyrics)--manpain. All manpain, all the time. And ideally--this is something that's a bigger deal with the next two vids, but part of the idea here too--to go back as far as possible in the history of TV and film. More of a focus on the contemporary phenomenon from the last couple decades, but of course the general concept--the obsession with attractive well-off white men suffering emotional pain at great length, in pornographic detail--goes way back. Unlike the next two, this is mostly critique, not celebration--as is probably obvious from the title, before even listening to the song.

2. Jo Dee Messina, "Heads Carolina, Tails California" (lyrics)--roadtrip! Basically I want to do--or see done, to be more realistic--a film/TV history of roadtrips and other kinds of leisure/exploratory travel. Obviously this is not, like, a NEW idea, but it would be a great vid. And although there are thousands of vid-hours' worth of critique of the whole concept and how it exemplifies/contributes to the kyriarchy, that is not what I want this vid to be about--but rather the American (?? I haven't actually read most of that critique/history in detail, I admit) fantasy/idea of the road trip, how it's developed and influenced/been influenced by other traditions, how it's spread to belong--if contentiously--to more and more groups of people. And primarily how it's AWESOME and FUN. (And not just the conventional idea of a road trip--any kind of travel that's primarily for exploration (which I know is a loaded idea in itself, but go with me here for a minute) and/or adventure and pleasure, that's about the journey rather than the destination. When I first heard this song ages ago, my immediate idea was for a Stargate vid--so, lots of science fiction traditions here too.)

3. Ke$ha, "Mr. Watson" (lyrics)--this is a bad song, but also a GREAT one. At least, I think so; my taste is often questionable. So the point of this vid: HOT FOR TEACHER. And obviously, NOT a realistic look at actual occurrences, but a celebration of a really old fantasy, from the POV of students(of all genders but I'm guessing majority women). As with the other two, getting examples and footage from as far back in time as possible, although this may not be represented as far back. But I'm sure there's stuff from at least many decades ago. I just love the song because it's so totally delighted and self-confident and determined without any tinge of tragedy.

This has been today's edition of Difficult Vids Theater.
