I really should know by now that "maybe I should just scribble some crap and get it out of my system" always, ALWAYS turns into an actual story at which I can now fail. EVERY TIME. Still, I am having way too much fun writing in the most overblown 19th-century style I can possibly manage. And it's not like I ever planned to post this anyway.
