It is intermission at Newsies and I am way more blown away than I thought I'd be. I mean, it's still Newsies, and there's been one total dud of a song so far, but mostly it's just so energetic and full of FEELINGS and amazing singing. I approve of all the changes so far, also. They do make it less slashy, but other than that much better.
Unfortunately I'm seated next to a really incredibly annoying couple, more on them later. I want to throw them both over the railing.
Okay, finished and home, final verdict: that was extremely excellent! There were two numbers that I thought were highly underwhelming, but everything else was great in so many ways. Tomorrow I will have a proper computer again and I'll try to type up some more thoughts about things. Like the reinvention of Jack's character, and Katherine, and the impossibility of getting a read on anyone's intended age in this version and how that could lead some peculiar places. Also there are now movie fics I want to reread but have no hope of finding, so I will probably ask the internet for help there. Also, oh my gosh you guys, that was a LOT of handsome nubile young dancing boys. Just...oodles of them, everywhere.
