Okay, I've got Friday and Saturday night settled now, and I think I will stop while I'm ahead as far as buying pre-paid tickets to things, to avoid another Sleep No More fiasco. Friday night I'm going to see JD Samson and MEN and I expect it to be brilliant. And Saturday night is Anything Goes. This will leave plenty of time to attempt rush tickets to Book of Mormon, hang out in parks, attend free choral music concerts at churches, and go to museums--last time I was at the Natural History Museum, I tried to do the whole fossil hall but unwisely made this attempt after already spending a couple hours walking around other exhibits. I only made it to the divergence of mammals and reptiles, so maybe this time I can get all the way to humans! Or more realistically, to the beginning of distant hominid ancestors. My feet are not good at museums.
So, it's good to have that settled so I can quit freaking out. And if any of y'all are in New York and want to do a thing or just hang out between July 5 and 8th inclusive, aside from Friday and Saturday night, I am available! Or if you have any suggestions for fun free/cheap stuff to do during the day, or good neighborhoods for walking around in (this is determined by 1.) interesting stuff to look at, like buildings and shops and art spaces, 2.) relatively inexpensive restaurants, and 3.) comfortable and nice places to sit down), I welcome this information. Anywhere within a dozen blocks of a subway stop is good.
