(no subject)
--and now I have an iPhone. Which I discovered when I found out my old phone had been shut off, when I tried to make a call after class this afternoon. SO. iPhone! What do I do with this? I never planned on getting one, so all I can think to use it for (besides...calling people) is getting maps and directions. Also this will be the first time I've had a phone advanced enough to have an actual ringtone; I've spent the last ten years just listening to a generic fakey MIDI ringing noise. Now I have to actually CHOOSE something.
I am NOT going to get any games, primarily because I will end up playing them for hours and hours, and also because I can already tell I'm going to have a ridiculous amount of trouble remembering to keep this thing charged and I don't want to encourage myself to use up the battery more than necessary.
ALSO, I just realized when itunes prompted me, I have to name it. My naming scheme for my hard drive devices--ATLA characters--is pretty near its limits. I've already got Aang(main desktop), Katara(netbook), Sokka(portable hard drive), Toph(external 1), Zuko(external 2), Iroh(external 3, used for backups), Appa(ipod), and Momo(flash drive). The phone's going to be Azula, which is probably tempting fate--I actually have had more trouble with the Zuko drive than any of the others; it's currently on its third incarnation--but that's better than departing from the theme. (All the devices have reasons for their names, too. Which I will not go into at length, but I assure you I've considered characterization and narrative function very carefully. Also color.)
